1. Who we are

2. What we collect

When you use shvil.io we may collect: (a) account information you provide when you sign up as a guide or user (name, email, phone, license number, profile details); (b) content you publish (photos, tour descriptions, availability); (c) inquiries you send or receive; (d) basic usage information (pages visited, device type, approximate location from IP) via optional analytics.

3. How we use it

We use your information to: run the platform, verify tour-guide credentials, connect travelers with guides, send transactional and administrative emails, prevent abuse, and improve the service. We do not sell your data.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data based on: your consent (analytics, marketing), contract performance (running your account and inquiries), and legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention).

5. Cookies and analytics

shvil.io uses a small number of cookies and analytics services. These fall into two groups:

• Essential cookies: needed for sign-in, session state, language preference, and consent choices. These are set as soon as you use the site and cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics 4 to help us understand which pages are useful, how travelers find guides, and where the site can be improved. IP addresses are anonymized. These cookies are set only after you click Accept in the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for shvil.io. We do not currently use advertising, retargeting, or third-party marketing pixels. If we add any in the future we will update this policy and re-request consent.

6. Sharing

We share your information with: guides you contact via the inquiry form (name, message, contact details), service providers who run our infrastructure (Clerk for authentication, Resend for email, Cloudinary for images, Railway for hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and CDN, Google for analytics), and government or legal authorities where required by law.

7. Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Inquiries are retained for up to 24 months. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. You can request deletion at any time (see section 9).

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and rely on well-known providers for authentication, storage, and hosting. No system is 100% secure; if you become aware of any security concern please contact [email protected] immediately.

9. Your rights

You may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Guides can also unpublish or delete their profile from the dashboard. Contact [email protected] for anything the dashboard does not cover.

10. Children

shvil.io is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or an in-app notice.
