Legal Framework

This statement is provided in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568, aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA.

• Full support for Hebrew and right-to-left (RTL) text direction
• Semantic HTML structure with landmark elements (nav, main, footer) for screen reader navigation
• Language declaration (lang) on the HTML document
• Full keyboard navigation and Escape key support for dismissing dialogs
• Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
• "Skip to main content" link on every page (revealed on focus)
• Alternative text (alt) for meaningful images
• Readable, adequately-sized text (minimum 14px base font)
• Accessible font families: General Sans for English, Noto Sans Hebrew for Hebrew

Ongoing Improvements

shvil.io is under active development. We are working continuously on the following:

• Comprehensive color contrast audit on all elements
• Full ARIA labeling on all icon-only buttons
• Adding an accessibility widget with text-size and high-contrast options
• Automated accessibility testing with axe-core
