תיאור
Magdala preserves the remains of a first-century Jewish town on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. The site includes streets, markets, ritual baths, fishing-related installations, and a remarkably well-preserved synagogue. A private visit can focus on the Jewish life of the town, the Roman-era Galilee, the figure of Mary Magdalene, and the development of Christian pilgrimage around the lake. It can be combined with Capernaum, Tabgha, Mount Arbel, or a wider Sea of Galilee route. Magdala brings the first-century Galilee down to human scale. It was a working lakeshore town, shaped by fishing, trade, worship, family life, and the social world from which early Christianity emerged.
