Sde Boker & Ben-Gurion’s Negev Vision

Description

Sde Boker is the desert kibbutz where David Ben-Gurion chose to live after leaving office as Israel’s first prime minister. His simple home and grave overlooking the Zin Valley remain central places for understanding his vision of the Negev. A private visit can include Ben-Gurion’s hut, the nearby educational and research setting, his grave, and views across the desert. It can be combined with Ein Avdat, Avdat, local farms, or an overnight stay in Mitzpe Ramon. The story is one of a national vision becoming personal. Ben-Gurion saw the Negev as central to Israel’s future and chose to make his own life in the desert part of that argument.
