Description

At Rosh HaNikra, white limestone cliffs meet the Mediterranean at Israel’s northern border. The sea has cut a network of grottos and passages into the rock, creating one of the country’s most dramatic coastal landscapes. A visit can include the cable car, the sea grottos, coastal views, and the story of the old railway line that once connected Haifa, Beirut, and Tripoli. It can be combined with Acre, the western Galilee, or a coastal food and nature day. This dramatic cliff is now an edge of the country, but it once stood on a route linking the ports and cities of the eastern Mediterranean. Its story is about both borders and connection.
